Thanks to Rodrovich, Alfredopasta and Irina for nominating me for this award! 🙂 I did not know this blog was so unique that three people nominated me! Like what is even happening?! I’m really grateful though and I would nominate all three of you back but I haven’t just to give others a chance. 🙂
Rodrovich mainly reviews anime, giving his opinions on shows. I especially like up to date with his anilogs because they are a nice little summary of his opinions on all the anime’s that he is watching during the current season. You should definitely check his blog, Rodrovich’s Anime Blog, if you haven’t already!
Alfredopasta (can I just take a minute to appreciate the name like come on what a name!) mainly posts about anime but there other cool things here as well like his Seiyuu Spotlights which are pretty cool! Slice of Alfredo is another blog that’s definitely worth checking out if you haven’t already! 🙂
Irina has a blog filled with a lot of awesome stuff and she recently started a new blogwarming project which is super awesome! Her posts are always interesting to read so yeah check out her drunkenanimeblog! 🙂

Questions from Rodrovich:
Which place would you most like to visit and why?
For someone who doesn’t travel or steps out of the house unless I have to, this Is a very easy question. There really isn’t a place I would like to visit. I’m the type of person who uses work as an excuse to get out of family trips or day outs because I just can’t deal with people and crowded places in general. I’m more than happy to sit in my room with headphones in watching something on my laptop than going outside. I’m the worst person to go on holiday with or go anywhere with for that matter.
How would you explain anime to one who has never seen any before?
Good question. How do you do this indeed. I’ve never been asked what anime is since most people tend to ask me “is that like Naruto or something?” which makes explaining the whole thing a lot easier. I guess if I had to explain anime to someone it would probably be as follows: “It’s Japanese animation that’s aimed at everybody, not just kids and is really interesting”. I mean that is what anime is in a nutshell so I would start off with that and go from there. It’s a given people will say “but isn’t it just cartoon” and then there’s the whole explanation of how anime presents complex stuff and trying to make people understand that. These days I just give up with people so if they ask what anime is, I tell them to google it.
What are some of your favourite (or influential) albums?
This is so easy. I only listen to a handful of artists and there only two artists that I am constantly listening to: Owl City and The Script. Their music is so amazing and both have some pretty great albums!
One of my favourite albums right now is Mobile Orchestra by Owl City. That album is absolutely beautiful and two of the songs from the album mean a lot to me. So yeah, that’s definitely one of my favourites. Another by Owl City would have to be Ocean Eyes. It’s a beautiful album and I’ve been listening to it for so many years that it’s become one of those albums that I can’t go without.
With The Script, my favourite album will always be Science and Faith. I love that album so much! It may be all about love but there’s just so much in there that I could listen to it forever and not get bored. Having said that, I love all their albums since I have loved their music from the beginning. It just so happens that Science and Faith has some of my all-time favourite songs in there.
Questions from Alfredopasta:
I think we’ve all seen a slice-of-life anime or two, what’s your favourite one?
This is a really hard question because I’ve watched a lot of slice of life and loved most of them. I think I’ll go for 3-gatsu no Lion since that hit me like a whirlwind! I absolutely love it and second season’s been pretty good so far. But, if I was to pick a long standing favourite, it would be Barakamon. I loved the characters from Barakamon and the story was also pretty good.
Has an opening or ending theme of an anime ever sway you to watch that particular show? If not, what’s your favourite anime opening and/or ending?
Funnily enough, op/ed don’t really sway me because I tend to skip them when I’m watching anime. I know, I’m terrible but I just can’t sit through them no matter how good they are. So, I usually youtube each and every single one of them and listen to them like that. My favourite op is Hologram by Nico Touches The Wall from FMAB and my favourite ending is Secret Base ~ Kimi ga Kureta Mono by Ai Kayano, Karuka Tomatsu and Saori Hayami from Ano Hana. I absolutely loved this ending and even though listening to it tends to make me emotional, I’ll still go back and listen to it.
There have been many fantastic anime movies being released of recent years, what’s your favourite flick, old or new?
Hands down Spirited Away. Ever since I first watched it, it’s always been my favourite anime movie. I recently re-watched and it once again confirmed why I love it so much. If I had to pick a newer one it would have to be Kimi no na wa, though In This Corner of The World comes a close second. Both of these two movies are very different from each other and yet, I enjoyed them equally.
Questions from Irina
Favourite post you read this week
I can’t name one because that’s too less so I’m going to name a few 😛
Irina’s Blogwarming Party! Like come on that was a seriously awesome announcement so yeah that’s gotta be favourite post of the week.
Karandi had a really awesome Top 5 Yokai Anime list which basically sums up what to watch to the run up to Halloween if you need something to watch. (No surprise at what stole the number one spot though!)
Oh and I can’t forget this very funny post by Shoka which made my day! It was all about a mistake they made. I’m not going to say what because the fun is in reading it and finding out. 😉
What is the best thing about your secret crush? (Does not need to be someone who “exists”)
Well I have a crush on a fictional character so the best thing about them is everything because they don’t exist. That’s the best thing about fiction. It can create the most imperfect and the perfect characters that all have flaws and yet are still amazing with their beautiful looks and all. Things like that are just unattainable in reality that’s why reality needs to move aside. Oh and by the way my fictional crush comes from a novel so yeah, they really don’t exist except for in description and my imagination.
What do you wanna say to your boss/teacher/parent (whoever you consider an authority figure), who doesn’t read your blog!
I don’t know… I guess don’t read it? Probably. I mean it’s weird thinking about my parents or any of my teachers reading my blog. I don’t know I’d rather not have them read it. My parents already hear enough about my love for anime and they don’t really get it. My tutor would honestly be disspaointed that the blog isn’t about literature because she thinks I’m completely devoted to my course and all I do is read (it’s kind of true bit not completely) and that’s how it should be according to her.
But yeah, it would be weird so they are strictly forbidden from here.
