Hi guys! I’ve decided to not watch Beatless even though I was planning to because I don’t think I’d be able to handle 15 shows a week once uni starts. Not sure how I’m going to handle the amount I have already! It looks like Friday would be a good day for this post but knowing me, some weeks I might put this out on Saturday morning since a handful of the shows that I watch come out Friday afternoon and I will be in uni at that time starting next week. Life sure doesn’t like cooperating with me.

Anyways enough of that.

3-gatsu no lion season 2 cover3-gatsu no Lion Season 2 – ep 13

That was a really satisfying ending to an arc that did everything this arc has done up to know. It didn’t flinch away from the truth one bit when showcasing Takagi’s interrogation. It just goes to show, rightly as Kokubo points out, you can’t teach someone empathy or compassion especially when that someone has little to no regard for such things. This harsh reality of the first half was well balanced by the good news and victory of the second half where Hina receives a letter from Chiho and later, was able to hang out with her classmates. The victory here is not getting back at the bullies but being able to appreciate the people that truly care. A brilliant ending to this arc!

Gintama Season 7 coverGintama Season 7 – ep 2

If you want a lesson on interplanetary diplomacy, then look no further! This episode of Gintama does exactly that, through a poop gag that runs for the entire episode. Trust Gintama to be ridiculous when the plot is supposed to be serious! The perfectly placed miscommunications worked well in their favour causing the diarrhoea Nobunobu has to be mistaken for a lethal weapon that eventually just results in a very embarrassing situation for himself and the leader of the Altana Liberation Army. It was a hilarious episode with everything that Gintama does best, with toilet humour, politics and the seriousness of this stupid situation underlying the whole thing!

Hakata Tonkotsu Ramens coverHakata Tonkotsu Ramens – ep 2

The story now makes a lot of sense. I can see what the show is going about which I guess is a good thing and the main characters don’t seem too bad now that I know where they sit within this story. It makes sense for the show to have such a vast cast since it’s about hitmen and covering up mistakes by blaming someone else. I feel bad for Ling since it’s his sister that was violated and murdered but at the same time I feel bad for Saitou since he is going to be framed for her death. I do wonder how this show plans to play out all of this but as of now, I’m starting to like this show a little more.

Hakumei to Mikochi coverHakumei to Mikochi – ep 2

This time there were three mini stories. Each was alright as separate stories. The first one was about singing, the second about fishing and experiments and the third took us back to the café. The first and the third story had a nice little link where the coffee grinder the Master uses turns into a tsukumogami which were introduced in the first mini story. It was an alright episode. I wish there was more information about their world and all but oh well.

Koi wa Ameagari no You ni coverKoi wa Ameagari no You ni – ep 2

More than anything, I thought this episode had some real cute moments. I don’t think Tachibana meant to run after the customer to impress Kondo but things turned out well for her I guess since she got to spend some time with him. Seeing Kondo go to such lengths for her make him seem more like a concerned and panicking father than anything which, honestly made me laugh. I’m glad Tachibana’s confession failed. It’s the type of thing I’d expect from Kondo and it was a good way to play it off as well. Having Yoshizawa work at the same place also adds a nice touch of comedy to everything since he is quite the character. I feel like as long the show just continues to present Tachibana’s attractions to Kondo without crossing any boundaries we’re fine.

Kokkoku coverKokkoku – ep 2

Whilst this episode did do a lot of world building, introducing some of the rules of the Stasis, I’m still not sure where this show will go with all of this. Now it just feels like the show is more interested in setting up the suspense and the intrigue around the concept rather than giving us any details about the characters. To that point, we still don’t know much about the cult group yet a new character in introduced. I’m not sure about this show but I feel like it could turn out to be something I get pretty bored of.

Mahoutsukai no Yome cover

Mahoutsukai no Yome – ep 14

The thing with the fox hide was resolved way too quickly for it was set up to be but the story that followed was enjoyable and did connect the two stories. It turns out what both these two tales had in common was that life would be so much better without the feelings of love and loss. Its these feelings of love and loss that causes Chise to stay by Elias, stops Elias from letting Chise go, draws Joel and Redcurrant, allows Redcurrant to, in the end, “eat” Joels soul and causes Chise to break a taboo. All of it was a result of love and loss, was the story was well presented. I do wonder what will happen now that Chise has to bear the consequences of her actions.

Nanatsu no Taizai Imashime no Fukkatsu coverNanatsu no Taizai: Imashime no Fukkatsu – ep 1

Most of the episode was just a recap of what we already know with Ban and King going off their separate way. Meliodas talks to the king about the vision he had and finds out troubling is brewing. The earthquake is the herald as the demon clan is back. The ten shadows Elizabeth saw in her dream are here. I’m beginning to think she possess the same power as her father. At least she was bearable in this episode which is good! Anyways, one of these demons looks identical to Meliodas! I’m really excited now and I really want to know who he is!

Overlord II cover

Overlord II – ep 2

The main cast from Nazarick is mainly absent from this episode as Zayusu and the lizardmen become the focus with Zayusu beginning his mission to unite the lizard tribes to face their oncoming foe. The best part of the episode were his interactions with Crusch Lulu, the priestess and leader of the Red Eye clan. His marriage proposal and diplomatic talks on how to deal with the threat were well balanced and it was just a super cute scene overall with their tails exposing their true feelings very well!

Ryuuou no Oshigoto! coverRyuuou no Oshigoto! – ep 2

I don’t think I’m really going to like this show. The little kid harem that took place this episode really wasn’t to my liking and the continues presentation of Ai as more than a simple apprentice with the way she reacts to others talking to Yaichi and later her parents, doesn’t really sit well with me. Whilst the shogi presented does look interesting, I’m really not sold on Ai’s character, or any of the characters for that matter so, I’ve not really enjoyed the episodes so far.

Violet Evergarden coverViolet Evergarden – ep 2

Not as emphatic as the first episode but still a solid episode with a concentration on Violet’s struggles in her new role and completely introducing us to the postal service. It did a good job at highlighting the problems Violet needs to overcome, specifically with understanding human emotions something the she lacks. Looks like Violet is up for quite the journey in understanding emotions which in turn will help her understand her own.

Yowamushi Pedal Glory Line coverYowamushi Pedal: Glory Line – ep 2

I’m glad the show has shifted focus to Naruko and Imaizumi because they are entertaining characters. They can never agree but have a common goal so make for a good team though it doesn’t seem like it at first. Most of the episode was based around that until the end, where it becomes clear that Komori and Midousuji are now ready to attack. I do wonder who will take that all important first place? I am cheering on Midousuji otherwise where is the fun in this?

Zoku Touken Ranbu Hanamaru coverZoku Touken Ranbu: Hanamaru – ep 2

I feel like the second half of the episode could have been fleshed out a bit more. The first part introduced a new sword, Juzumaru, and some mountain training with Yamabushi which was alright. The second half of the episode dealt with Honebami’s dream and his wish to save his two brothers from getting burnt in the fire at Osaka Castle. I feel like more attention to that could have bene given since it was a significant decision and could have changed history. Either way, things were resolved in the end, and history wasn’t changed.
