Hi guys! Here’s last week’s roundup. Almost caught up with anime finally!
Boogiepop and Others – ep 15
Most of this episode was seeing the memories and dreams a few of the characters were having now that they are trapped. It was interesting to watch what they had to say and I was surprised to see Kentarou realise and break free all by himself and wake up his friend. It’s also interesting that he thinks it’s Teratsuki who is behind all of this. That would make a lot of sense since he did appear at the beginning of the episode and that he appeared as part of one character’s dream sequence suggests he is connected to all of this somehow. I’m kind of excited to see how this one plays out.
Dororo – ep 10
I wasn’t expecting an episode dedicated to Tahomaru but it turned out to be better than expected. It gave his character depth and seeing how he views the land against Daigo’s was interesting to say the least. It seems like unknowingly, Tahomaru just helped his brother and I’m interested in their interaction and whether it’ll occur again. For now, it seems Daigo’s plans may backfire if Tahomaru decides monster slaying helps the people because that’s aiding Hyakkimaru, not his father.
Fairy Tail (2018) – ep 22
This wasn’t a bad episode with its three segments. I just wish Wendy and Shelia’s fight and aftermath were given more time since that was the best part out of the episode. That being said, it was nice to see Lucy and Natsu fighting back against Jacob. I do wonder how this fight will go but I’m more interested in Mavis. The crystal around her body is breaking and she thinks she’s got a way to defeat Zeref that probably involves Natsu which, as it stands, is a bit of a no go. Still, I’d like to know what she’s come up with.
Fukigen na Mononokean: Tsuzuki – ep 10
The cultural festival was great fun to watch and both Ashiya and Abeno looked great in their costumes. The yokai stories were pretty interesting as well and I liked how the overarching story about Sakae plays into it all. Yahiko reveals that Sakae was an employee of the mononokean and even transforms into the man when he was a teenager. Something tells me maybe Aoi had an unofficial employee before Abeno. Also, it was nice to see Aoi even if it was in cat form.
Kaguya-sama: Love is War – ep 9
This episode was so much fun to watch. Seeing Kaguya try and get Miyuki to ask her for a ride was quite funny and the game that followed after she caught the cold was fun to watch. Best of all, though, was seeing Kaguya when she is sick. Who knew she’d end up like that? The three segments worked well this week and I quite enjoyed it!
Kakegurui×× – ep 10
The gamble itself was fun to watch but in the end, it didn’t do much. All it did was make Sayaka the President’s personal secretary. Of course, this could have serious implications down the line but for now, this gamble simply fleshed out Sayaka’s character. Not that I have any problems with that. Still, I’m more interested by that black letter and the auction that was mentioned at the end. Now that seems very interesting.
Mob Psycho 100 II – ep 10
I loved this episode! Seeing everyone fight was just awesome and I quite liked how the characters were all incorporated into the story this week. There was enough comedy and compassion to balance out all the action as well so it didn’t feel like it leaned too heavily on one side. And of course, now Mob is awake! I do wonder what will happen now especially since he has no clue and his brother is out there fighting.
Run with the Wind – ep 21
I really want this team to win right now even if that doesn’t seem all that realistic. Yuki and Nico’s characterisation this week was brilliant. Just when you think you know these characters, the show just gives you more to feed on. I really liked both sections and I don’t want either of them saying goodbye to running, not when they seem to enjoy it this much. Still, their rank is steadily going up and hopefully that will continue!
Sword Art Online: Alicization – ep 21
Well that fight was shorter than expected. At least the trio are finally on the same side and fighting the same foe. I don’t know how I feel about the episode because found Eugeo’s interactions with the Administrator to be interesting as well seeing the three together getting ready to fight Chudelkin. The fight was okay in itself but it just felt anti-climactic. What I’m more interested in is the implications of Eugeo remembering that Kirito has always been with him since childhood.
The Promised Neverland – ep 10
Whilst Norman’s shipment was heart-breaking, it has by far been my favourite episode. The build up to this moment was just amazing and the children were not the only ones despairing. Norman’s absence is felt in the second half not just because the enthusiasm and joy seems to have faded, but it does feel like something is missing. However, whilst it may seem that Ray and Emma have given up, that last scene tells us otherwise. Also, I do wonder where Norman was taken. Can I hope the boy is still alive, because I can’t accept his been done away with.
