That Random Editor’s Questions:

1. What was the first anime you watched?

The first anime I watched knowingly was probably Vampire Knight. My sister’s friend introduced me to the anime after she saw me reading the manga. At that time, I knew little to nothing about anime but I really enjoyed watching Vampire Knight and have watched anime on and off since.

2. What was the first manga you read?

That would have been something off the manga shelves at my school library. I remember reading a couple of volumes of Bleach, Punch and of course, Vampire Knight. Which of these I read first, I don’t know but I do remember it was Punch that got me into reading shoujo manga. I did quite enjoy reading manga back then but stopped reading it for a very long time because I enjoy novels more and have only in the past couple of years slowly gotten back into manga reading.

3. What was the first light novel you read?

I’ve not read any light novels. I really want to read some but I don’t like reading online and haven’t had the chance to purchase any. Plus, I don’t want to add too much to my reading list at the minute considering I still have a lot of manga and books that I want to read.

4. Do you know Fire Emblem? Or at least played any video game?

I’ve heard a lot about Fire Emblem but don’t play it myself and nor do I play any other video games. I don’t even have a gaming console at home since neither me nor my siblings are into video games.

5. Which anime database (e.g. MyAnimeList, AniList, Anime Planet, etc.) do you prefer and why?

This is a tricky one because I’ve only every used MAL and don’t tend to do much on it other than catalogue what anime I’ve watched and that too infrequently so it’s not the most up to date thing. I don’t mind using MAL since it does the job though I will say the rating system isn’t the best.

6. What is your preferred demographic in anime? Shoujo, Shounen, Kodomomuke, Seinen, or Josei?

That’s another difficult question. I tend to enjoy seinen the most but I end up watching a lot of shounen and shoujo. I don’t think I’ve watched a lot of josei at all.

7. What is your favourite blog post that you’ve produced?

What’s with all these difficult questions?! I think I’ll go with a recent post and go with my post on Haikyu for the Animanga Festival.

8. Do you take seasonal breaks from time to time?

Sometimes. I took one over summer so I could concentrate on reading. I didn’t watch any anime all season and nor was I actively blogging. It was a good break. For me, breaks from anime every now and then are necessary just like with any other hobby.

9. What part of blogging do you find the most challenging?

Finding the time to write a post. I’ve scheduled a lot of my posts and plan to continue doing so to avoid feeling like I can’t find the time to blog when I want to. This is the answer I found in balancing blogging with reality especially with uni work. I’ve been drowning in a lot of reading and I know from November – January, I’ll be busy writing essays so it’s difficult for me to find the time to sit down, plan and write blog posts.

10. Do knowing spoilers beforehand actually ruin the experience?

Hmm sometimes. I try and avoid spoilers as much as possible because it takes away that initial excitement that you get from seeing something for the first time. That being said, I don’t mind if I see spoilers because it makes me more excited for what’s to come even if it does ruin the surprise.

11. If you weren’t blogging, where would you be?

This one’s easy. I’d be doing exactly what I do every day minus blogging. It would just mean I’d have more time to read and watch anime but I like blogging so I’m glad I started blogging.

My Questions:

  1. What got you into blogging?
  2. What do you enjoy about blogging?
  3. What has been your favourite post that you’ve written of this year?
  4. What got you into anime?
  5. What new anime are you excited to watch this season?
  6. So far, what’s been your favourite anime of this year?
  7. Do you think you’ll ever stop watching anime?
  8. What is a good anime to watch for Halloween?
  9. What do you love the most about autumn?
  10. Do you like drinking pumpkin flavoured drinks in autumn?
  11. What was your favourite piece of merch that you purchased this year?

  1. Never expected that my questions would be that difficult for you. I should make a different set. When you admitted that you’re having a hard time I actually chuckled a bit. I will be more forgiving next time take note! Thanks for answering them by the way.
